This textbook represents a comprehensive overview of the diagnosis, workup, and anatomical-based treatment of a vast number of complex knee pathologies. Of course, all complex knee pathologies circle back to one’s knowledge of anatomy and the ability to perform a comprehensive physical examination. Along with this knowledge, it is important to recognize the biomechanical function of each individual anatomic structure, both statically and dynamically, so that when a problem is identified, one can develop a comprehensive differential diagnosis of the potential secondary stabilizers that can be affected and that can result in pathological increase in motion. Finally, treating these injuries in a timely manner with anatomical based reconstructions that are biomechanically and clinically validated (when indicated) will aid in maximizing the chances for a successful outcome. This is what allows one to become a successful complex knee surgeon.
